I will praise You, O my Lord
With all of my soul and heart.
I will tell of Your wonders,
The whole and every part.

And honor You, O Most High.
The Lord will reign forever.
He has established His throne.
He will judge and will govern
With His righteousness alone.
The Lord is a strong refuge
For us in each troubled time.
Those who know Your name will trust,
For Your concern is sublime.
Sing to the Lord in Zion.
Proclaim both far and wide
What He does He remembers
Every humble tear you cried.
The needy, not forgotten.
The afflicted, hope will win.
Every nation will be judged.
Let them know they are but men.

Psalm 9 is a reminder that God is a reliable, righteous judge and a safe refuge for the oppressed. Even when evil seems to win, God never forgets the cry of the needy, and those who know His character can fully trust Him in hard times. We choose to praise and trust in God’s ultimate justice, even when facing trouble or seeing the wicked temporarily prosper.
- Praise Comes Before Relief: Worship is a deliberate choice before and during trials. Remember God’s faithfulness in the past to build confidence in the present.
- God is a Safe Refuge: God is there all the time when life feels overwhelming.
- Trust Requires Knowing God: Knowing God’s unchanging and faithful character builds confidence.
- Justice Will Prevail: The psalm reminds us that temporary human power and wickedness fade, but God sits enthroned forever to judge the world with fairness. He will not forget your faithfulness.
