In the Beginning

Posted on February 27, 2026 by ruthbillingsley

Jesus, The Word

In the beginning was the Word.
He was with God from the start.
The Word was God, holy and true.
His love to fill every heart.

Through Him all things were created.
Without Him nothing was made.
In Him was life, the light of men,
A light that will never fade.

His light shines bright in the darkness.
This light will show men the way.
Darkness will lead to confusion.
So, He guides men who will pray.

And the Word became human flesh.
He came among us to live.
We have seen the One and only.
His grace and truth He will give.

No person has ever seen God.
His Son declares Him alone.
He abides at His Father’s side,
Yet came down to make Him known.

See Him! He is the Lamb of God.
He has come to save from sin.
Remember all the words of John
And renew your faith within.

(Based on John 1)

There was no beginning for God. It cannot be understood, it just is. John does not explain…he just states it. God is eternal and He exists outside of time. God has chosen us to reveal who He is and what He has done for us through His Word. Jesus, His Son, is the exact representation of God and is the power behind creation. Jesus loves us so much that He left His position with the Father so He could come down into His creation and redeem us.

"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant , and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross." Philippians 2:5-8

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist." Colossians 1: 15-17.

Christ is the ultimate expression of God's Word to us, and the truth found in Jesus matters because Jesus matters.

The “laminin biblical meaning” refers to the popular Christian idea that the cross-shaped structure of the laminin protein, which holds the human body together, symbolically mirrors Colossians 1:17, stating, “In Him all things hold together,” suggesting Jesus as the structural glue for creation. While science explains laminin functionally as a cell-binding molecule (the body’s “rebar”), many Christians see its cross-like shape as a deliberate divine sign, connecting its role in sustaining life with Christ’s sustaining power.
