My Christmas Poem

Posted on December 26, 2025 by ruthbillingsley
Jesus isn’t only a baby
Born on Christmas Day.
He is God’s only Son
Who in a manger lay.

Jesus isn’t only a baby
Who the wise men adored.
He came to bring us love.
He came to be our Lord.

Jesus isn’t only a baby.
He grew to be a man.
He died upon the cross.
It was God’s perfect plan.

Jesus isn’t only a baby.
His death brought life to us.
Forever we will live
If we believe and trust.

We celebrate the birth of Jesus
On this Christmas Day.
“Now You are our Savior.
Be with us Lord, we pray.”

As you open your Christmas gifts, may you remember that the best gift of all is God’s gift to us, Jesus. How should we remember Him? Jesus Himself instructs us to remember, not His birth, but His death. Luke 22:14-20 says, “do this in remembrance of Me.” The coming of the Savior into the world is certainly important, but at that point, Jesus was a helpless baby. It was what He did with His life over the next thirty-three years that makes all the difference! Jesus was born into the world to save humanity from sin and rule as King of kings. His birth was the beginning of a life dedicated to the obedience of God and the salvation of all mankind.

What better place to start our faith walk than the story of Jesus in the manger, as long as we remember, this is about more than a baby. Joy to the World! The Lord is born.
