Life and Conduct

From the heart man makes all his plans,
But his future is in God's hands.
Man's intent is good in his eyes,
But his motives may not be wise.
Commit to the Lord everything,
Then future success God will bring.
The Lord has made His purpose known.
Each man will answer on his own.
God hates all who are proud of heart.
Their punishment God will impart.
Sin is forgiven through God's love.
Fear of Him sends grace from above.
When our ways are pleasing to the Lord,
Enemies live in peaceful accord.
Little is better when you live right,
Rather than great wealth filled with spite.
A man's heart plans all of his ways,
But the Lord directs all his days.
(Based on Proverbs 16)
The best laid plans sometimes never work out. Why? Because God intervened with a better plan. We continue to have ideas because that is the way God made us. Independent? Yes, but also obedient. God ultimately determines the outcome. He is sovereign and wants us to trust Him and let Him establish the path we take. Whatever God wants us to accomplish, His wisdom will shine through.
Sometimes we have too much confidence or arrogance, so relying on God’s wisdom is hard. Just leave the outcome to God and He will guide our thoughts and actions. Tell Him your plans. Let them become His responsibility and He will open doors for us to walk through and make paths we can follow. Listen to the wisdom He has written in Proverbs and apply it to your life.
Pray and ask. God will see you through the most difficult situations and decisions you make along life’s journey. Trust Him. He is wise.
