In My Father’s House

Posted on March 25, 2022 by ruthbillingsley
Abba Father, God above,
Thank you for sending me Your love.

Adopted through Christ, I became Your child.
I now have a Father who is gentle and mild.

Today I have nothing to fear or to hide,
Because all that I need You will provide.

A Father I can talk to and open my heart.
My dreams and cares to You, I’ll impart.

I praise You, O Father, for all You have done,
But most of all for sending Your Son.

I love You, Father, for choosing me
And calling me “daughter” through eternity.

We are either born into an earthly family or we are adopted. No one adopts by accident. It is a choice, a commitment, and intentional.  God chose us. “Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.” (Ephesians 1:4). He sent His Son for us.  He loves us with intention and with purpose.  What is His purpose?  For us to live as His child.  How?  By believing in Jesus and having faith in His Word.  God calls people from every era, region, and status in life to be His children.

A child of God lives for Him on earth and eagerly awaits a future with Him in heaven. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)

Being a part of the family of God is the greatest blessing.  Be blessed today.
