Calm My Anxious Heart

Posted on September 10, 2021 by ruthbillingsley

Week Six

Never Enough

Set My Heart Free

I love You Lord Jesus
More than riches or fame.
When I am tempted
I call on Your name.

Guide me to always be
Giving, caring and kind.
The love of money
Never on my mind.

Security and peace
Within Your hands abide.
When I am in need
You always provide.

Everything is Yours, Lord
In heaven and in earth,
Showing Your power
And unfathomed worth.

Help me to wisely use
What You have given me.
To share with others
And set my heart free.

Psalm 119:32
“I run in the path of Your commands,
for You have set my heart free."
(MEV)

Do we find contentment in material possessions?

Do we ever have enough?

Let’s look at God’s viewpoint:

1.  Everything belongs to God.  1 Chronicles 29:11-14

2.  Our heart is the issue.  Psalm 62:10

3. God comes first.  Matthew 6:24

4.  Possessions are to be used, not loved.  Luke 12:15

5. Share!  1 Timothy 6:17-19

God’s word has made it plain to us.  Be content with what we have.  Be grateful!  Whether we are rich or poor, we must find contentment with what God has given us. This brings peace and calms our anxious hearts.
