Confession of Faith

Posted on July 30, 2021July 30, 2021 by ruthbillingsley

Proverbs 30:2-6

I am an ignorant man.
Understanding? I've none
I know neither of wisdom
or of the Holy One.

Agur, the author of this proverb, writes about the ignorance of man and the wisdom of God. He was careful not to boast of his spiritual knowledge. But the one thing he did know, even though written close to a thousand years before the birth of Christ, he knew God and he knew His Son.

Who has gone to heaven
And then returned so grand?
Who has gathered the wind
And held it in His hand?

Who has wrapped the waters
In His garment, His cloak?
Who has now established
The earth with words He spoke?

Nature will always be a mystery to me.  I am in awe of how God not only made the world by just speaking, but also sustains it perfectly. All nature is under His command.

What is His holy name?
And the name of His Son?
Tell me if you know this!
Is He the Mighty One?

What is His name?  Yahweh
What is His Son’s name?  Yahovah Shua – Jesus

Every one of God’s words
Is flawless, absolute.
He is a shield to all
When they are destitute.

All scripture is inspired by God and is pure and free from all error.  It is flawless, perfect and absolutely sound. It comes from the God of truth who cannot lie.  Every promise is precious. When we are tempted to believe the world’s ideas of life, God’s truth protects our minds and our hearts.  We can stand firm in what we believe and be comforted.

Do not add to His word,
Or He will rebuke you.
He’ll prove you a liar
With the words you construe.

The Bible is the perfect word of God.  Every word is truth, inspired by Him.  God instruct us regarding marriage, sex, childrearing, and church relations.  No human has the right to change God’s words.  Man cannot pick and choose what he wants to believe.  Do you know God’s word?  Have you read all of it?  Do you obey its commands and receive the blessings God has promised?
