The Path of Life

Posted on August 21, 2026 by ruthbillingsley
Keep me safe, O Lord.
Grant refuge anew.
I have no good thing
Apart from You.

The sorrows of those
Who seek other gods
Will increase and flow
Like rivers so broad.

Lord, You assigned me
My portion and cup.
My lot is secure.
To You I look up.

I will praise the Lord
Who counsels my soul.
And even at night
My heart’s in control.

I have always set
The Lord before me.
He’s at my right hand
Unshaken I’ll be.

My heart, then, is glad.
My tongue rejoices.
My body will rest
Secure in my choices.

I’m secure because
You will keep me near.
Your Holy One, safe
No decay, no fear.

You have made known
The path of life.
You fill me with joy.
Your presence, no strife.

Eternal pleasures
Overflow in me.
At Your right hand
I’m resting in Thee.
(Based on Psalm 16)

Where does your life path lead you?

  • Fear or Security?
  • Worry or Peace?
  • Sorrow or Joy?

God’s desire for you is to follow the path He has put before you – to direct your steps and provide safety. Do your steps follow Him or do they follow the things of this world?

“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. “ Psalm 16:11

God will guide you and provide safety. He will give you fullness of joy if you stay close to Him rather than looking for fulfillment somewhere else. He will point you toward eternal life with HIm. Search the scriptures and He will show you the way. He will direct your steps.
