Harvard Class of 2026

This is week two of Brady’s musical journey celebration. These are some of my favorite pictures and videos of him during his Middle School and Junior High years. His musical gifts began to develop and grow into many facets of the performing arts. It was a delight to experience his varied talents.

“In the world of live music, it’s not that often that you get to perform the music you love most – especially when you are performing with a group. Gigs are largely dependent on client requests, and most competitions require that certain criteria be met. Because I’ve studied and performed gospel music for so much of my life, though, I’ve found ways to take those familiar sounds and motifs and apply them to any number of diverse genres. That’s one thing I love so much about arranging! You can do just about anything you want. For example, rich gospel harmonies translate well to vocal arrangements in instances where a full heavy metal rock band might not. It’s much easier for the voice to replicate the sound of a gospel singer than it is a distorted electric guitar track. That’s where I got the inspiration to arrange the classic rock tune “Should I Stay or Should I Go” as a soul piece for vocals. Without my background in the church, I doubt I would’ve been able to come to the same realization or translate across genres as effectively.” Brady Billingsley
