Count it all joy
When trials arrive,
Testing your faith.
For patience strive.
Then patience yields
Its perfect deed,
Completes your life.
Gives all you need.
Wisdom you lack?
Come, ask the Lord.
He gives to all.
Your faults ignored.
But ask in faith,
Without a doubt,
Lest like the sea,
You’re tossed about.
Be focused, sure,
Steadfast; believe.
Then from the Lord
You will receive.
Blessed is the man
Who endures trials.
When he prevails
God sees and smiles.
He will receive
The crown of life.
Promised by God
Through all the strife.
(Based on James 1:2-8)
We sometimes believe the lie that just because we are obedient, God will make things easy, however we learn from experience that God often brings us into hard places in order to teach us. One lesson to learn through trials is this: Sometimes it is not a matter of how much faith we have; it is how big our God is. We have this great comfort – God is in control. He is working out His good plan. He is working in our present struggles. He gives us strength to face every challenge in the days ahead. What do you need most during trials? Wisdom. Just ask and the things of God will be revealed through prayer, bible reading, other Christians, or circumstances. Can we endure? That is our goal.
