You know that the day
Of the Lord will come
Like a thief in the night
And all will succumb.
While people say, “Peace”
And talk of safety,
Destruction will come,
Suddenly, greatly.
Man will not escape,
But this you should know:
You’re not in darkness.
This Day will soon show.
You are sons of light.
Watch and find relief.
Not overtaken
At night like a thief.
Therefore, do not sleep
As other men do,
But watch, be sober,
Be loyal and true.
Put on the breastplate,
Of God’s faith and love,
And a helmet of hope,
Salvation from above.
Those who see God’s wrath
Are not in His plan,
But through Christ Jesus
Salvation began.
Whether we are awake
Or asleep at night,
We should live with Him,
In His perfect light.

The day of the Lord will come. We do not know when, but we believe in His Word that He is coming soon to establish His Kingdom and judge all people. The light of Jesus guides us to all truth. How do we find truth? We find it by studying the Bible, by prayer, and by serving others. We pray that our lives will be pleasing to God when we stand before the throne of his glory.
If you trust Jesus Christ and He has forgiven your sins, the light has been turned on for you. The darkness has been cast off and this day of the Lord will be glorious. God has called you to salvation. You have a place in God’s coming kingdom. You did nothing to earn it. All you did was trust and believe in Jesus.
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words." 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
