Ask and Receive

Posted on July 25, 2025 by ruthbillingsley
May the Lord answer you
When you are in distress.
May the God of Jacob
Protect you and bless.

From His sanctuary
May He send help to you.
From His city, Zion
May He give support anew.

May He remember too
Sacrifices you give,
And accept your offerings
For as long as you live.

May He also give to you
The desire of your heart,
And make your plans succeed
As His grace and love impart.

We will then shout for joy
When victory is ours.
We will lift our banners.
Our requests, His great powers.

Now I know that the Lord
Saves His anointed ones.
He answers from heaven
With the right hand of the Son.

We rise up and stand firm,
Though others soon will fall.
Now, O Lord, hear our prayers
And answers us when we call!
(Based on Psalm 20)

Psalm 20 is a plea for God to hear our prayers and grant our heart’s desires and fulfill all of our plans. It is also a prayer for divine help and protection. We are confident in God’s power to deliver us and support us. It highlights the importance of trusting in God’s power rather than human strength.  We put our hope and trust in God’s intervention during times of conflict.

  • God’s name is our source of strength and protection.
  • God answers us in times of trouble.
  • Trust is the key to God’s power.
  • God answers prayer and gives us victory.
  • Faith is the key to unlock God’s mighty love and care for us.
  • We serve a mighty God that is able to do marvelous works.
  • Ask and you will receive.
