God’s Omnipotence

Posted on June 6, 2025 by ruthbillingsley

Part Four

Captiva Morning
”Do you cause the prey
To be lion’s feed
When they crouch in dens
Then run with great speed?

”Food for the raven,
Who provides for it?
When the young cry out
To hunger submit?

”Do you know when the
Mountain goat gives birth?
The doe with her fawn,
Do you see their worth?

”Who lets the donkey
Go wild and run free?
Who unties his ropes,
To the wasteland flee?

”Will the ox serve you?
Will he stay beside
Your manger at night
And with you abide?

”Can you harness him
To till the rough ground
And rely on him
For harvest to abound?
(Based on Job 38:39-39:12)

In these verses, God continues to humble Job as He asks about several animals. God speaks about the lion, the raven, the goat, the donkey, and the ox, showing His power, wisdom and works.

Let’s look more closely at Job 39:12. “Will you trust him to bring home your grain, and gather it to your threshing floor?” The question is: Will you trust Him? This verse challenges us to reflect on our trust in God’s plan, even during our most difficult times. In moments of doubt or fear, we should recall that God is working for our good and preparing blessings to be gathered at the right time. His time, not ours. It is evident in nature’s creation and it is evident in us that God’s order of all things works well. We can trust God with things in our own lives that we don’t understand.

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” Every moment in our lives is like one of those seeds planted in the ground and in time, we will see what God has planned for us.
