Clap your hands, all you nations. With joy shout to God. Awesome is the Lord Most High, Honor near and abroad. He subdued nations for us, Those under our feet. He chose our inheritance. Jacob’s pride complete. God has ascended to us. Shouts of joy surround. Sing praises to God our King. Our worship abound. For God is the King of all The nations and the earth. Sing to Him a psalm of praise, Acknowledge His worth. God is seated on His throne. The nations come near. The people of Abraham Are ready to hear. For the kings of all the earth Belong to our God. He is greatly exalted. In awe we applaud. (Based on Psalm 47)
This psalm, recognizing and praising the Creator, reveals to us a truth; we are not God, neither are we king or the masters of our destiny. Keeping God in his place puts us and keeps us in our place. The world would work a whole lot better if more of us recognized this. We are not in control, He is. When circumstances of health-related, financial or relational problems abound, God is worthy of our praise. Why? Because we can trust that He is still “seated on His holy throne” and He holds us in His hand. When He does bring us to a place of healing, it is cause for great celebration. We can joyfully celebrate His goodness to us.
"For You are great and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God." Psalm 86:10
We shout praises and clap our hands in celebration of God’s work in our lives. Make it a priority to let your worship abound. He is worthy!
