Mark 12:30
Turn my heart toward Jesus, Away from earthly things, Toward the love of heaven, Where hope eternal reigns. Turn my soul toward Jesus, Away from darkness and gloom, Toward the light of salvation, Where freedom will grow and bloom. Turn my mind toward Jesus, Away from every sinful thought, Toward what is good and pure, Where faith and wisdom are taught. Turn my strength toward Jesus, Away from self and defeat, Toward the wings of eagles, Where they soar to Jesus’s feet.
May we seek to love the Lord with all our heart and all that we are, our soul, our mind, and our strength. This is God’s greatest of all the commandments. We are to seek Him with a passion for Who He is and not for any other motives. Our satisfaction is found in Him alone and our goal is to love Him more and more. Without Christ we can do nothing, but in Him we can do all things. If we allow Him to live and work through us, His love will shine through our lives and He will be glorified. Put away self and learn to love the Lord as He loves you. Soar like an eagle to Jesus’ feet.
