Worry and Fear (Part Two)

Posted on July 15, 2022 by ruthbillingsley

Luke 12:29-34

Truth is in the Father,
Not your food or drink.
 Neither what you might wear
Or what you will think.

Every one of these things
Are the world’s design.
What can keep me secure?
What can all be mine?

The Father knows what’s best,
Everything you need.
So seek His kingdom now;
All are yours, indeed.

Do not fear, little flock,
For it pleases God
To give you the kingdom,
So praise and applaud.

Now sell all that you have.
Give alms to the poor.
 Provide strong moneybags
That will stay secure.

Seek treasure in heaven
That will never fail.
No thief that approaches,
 Nor moth will assail.

So where is your treasure?
Now where is your heart?
God will meet all your needs,
Every one, every part.

Where is your treasure? What are your priorities? We are called to be different. Different in our ambitions, our desires, and what we seek. Why? We are citizens of heaven, not earth. “But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” Galatians 6:14

God knows what we need. God knows our difficult situations, so don’t be afraid. He knows our every thought. The true condition of our heart becomes clear based on how we use our time, our money, and our talents. Invest in God’s plan. The choices you make reveal where your heart is.
