Sea Creatures and Birds
Genesis 1:20-23

And God said, “Let the waters have life, And let the sky have birds.” So, God created living things, Every kind by His words. God blessed each one of them, and He said, “Be fruitful and increase. Fill the sky and seas with creatures.” This fifth day was at peace.
God’s perfect plan for creation continues on Day 5. He created sea creatures and birds. Day 4 prepared a place for them. The sky was empty and the seas were unfinished. They needed life.
God spoke them into being and then immediately spoke to all the creatures He had made. He blessed them and told them to be fruitful and multiply. Now birds know how to build nests and care for their young. They understand how to migrate for their protection and eagles realize they can fly 100 miles per hour.
A mother robin sits on her nest outside my writing room. The father robin brings her worms and protects her from the inquisitive squirrel.
Sea creatures have the ability to lay thousands of eggs or to carry their own babies. From the whale, the largest of all animals to the smallest, God gave them breath on Day 5.
“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them.” Matthew 6:26
“I know all the birds of the mountains” Psalm 50:11
“O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions – this great and wide sea, in which are innumerable teeming things, living things both small and great.’ Psalm 104:24-25
Birds and fish reflect God’s power in creation.
