Forgiveness is never easy; And, many times, it takes a while. Why is it difficult for some To turn and walk that extra mile? The Lord forgives every sinner, The ones who have turned back to Him. If only we could do the same, Be forgiving when others sin. Christ clearly sees you, and He cares. His eyes express His hope and love. So look around and pray to see The peace that will come from above. Don’t turn your back and walk away, When you are going through the pain. But look on others as Christ does; Serving them, their love to regain. When others hurt you and cause pain, Look to Christ’s love, and you will see It’s you who needs to take that step, And become forgiving and free. (From My Heart)
Forgiveness is a process. Think about what is causing your resentment and anger. Is it words? Is it actions? Have you ever made a mistake? Have you ever said the wrong thing? Have you spoken too quickly before thinking? Of course.
We expect others to forgive us, but we struggle to forgive others for the same thing. Unforgiveness is hurting yourself over and over in your memory. God forgives us when we sin against Him. He expects us to show the same mercy and grace to others who have wronged us.
Forgiveness is a choice.
Forgiveness is a decision.
Forgiveness is obedience to God’s Word.
Forgiveness is a reflection of the healing of a broken heart. God does amazing things when we obey. He can heal and restore. Rely on His Word to set you free.
