Freedom
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." Galatians 5:1
Jesus has come for the broken-hearted:
To bind them up in His peace;
To give freedom for captives
And from the darkness release.
Jesus has come to proclaim His favor,
His comfort for all who mourn;
Giving hope for all who grieve
And a crown instead of scorn.
A crown of beauty instead of ashes;
The oil of gladness for pain;
Garments of praise for despair;
Righteousness of Christ to gain.

Freedom is a precious and valuable thing that requires responsibility and sacrifice to keep. Men and women throughout history have given their lives for the freedom we experience today. True freedom is also political, personal, and spiritual and is not to be taken for granted. Be thankful today for the freedoms you enjoy along life’s journey.
