Who has measured
The waters in His hand?
Or who has surveyed
Heaven with a span?
Calculated dust
In all of the earth?
Weighed hills and mountains
To see what they’re worth?
Who led the Spirit?
Who showed Him the way,
Taught Him in knowledge,
And watched Him obey?
Behold, all nations
When measured will fall,
And counted by Him
As worthless and small.
Who can be like God,
Or what can compare?
Men mold an image.
Idols they prepare.
Have you never known?
Have you never heard?
From the beginning,
There has been God’s Word.
Don’t you understand
From foundation’s birth,
He that sits above
The circle of the earth?
Stretching out heaven
Like a curtain, wide,
The Lord spreads it out
Like a tent, abide.
Princes are nothing.
He makes judges fall.
God sees every man
As grasshoppers, small.
They won’t be planted
Like seeds never sown.
God blows them away,
Never to be known.
Who is My equal?
Or who is like Me?
Lift up your eyes high
To heaven and see.
Who created stars?
Who calls them by name?
By His great power
They remain the same.
Now, what do you say?
Do you hide from the Lord?
Does God deliver?
Do you see His reward?
The Everlasting God,
Creator of the earth,
He neither faints nor tires.
He is of great worth.
He gives strength to the weak,
Lifts youths when they fall.
But those who wait on the Lord
Renew their strength, stand tall.
With wings like eagles
They shall soar along.
They run, never weary.
They shall walk, be strong.
So find comfort in God.
You are never alone.
Listen to these words:
You are loved. You are known.
(Based on Isaiah 40:12-31)
Who else has held the oceans in his hands?
The God of all comfort and all power is the only One who deserves our praise and worship. He has all authority and holds everything together in His hand. He deserves our worship as we are drawn in by His love. When we worship Him, He gives us strength and comfort. We can soar. We can run. We can worship.
