Jesus Christ was born
In Bethlehem town
When Herod, the king,
Wore a robe and crown.
Wise men from the East
Were looking for Christ.
He’s King of the Jews;
His worth is unpriced.
They saw His bright star
In the Eastern sky.
Coming to worship,
Bow down, glorify.
Herod was troubled,
Jerusalem, too.
He gathered the scribes
And asked if they knew,
“Where is this baby?”
The Christ is His name.
Prophets have written,
A Ruler, they claim.
He’ll be a Shepherd,
Guiding every day.
So, Herod, in secret,
Sent wise men away.
He asked once again,
“What time did the star
Appear in the sky?
Go search near and far.
“Bring word back to me;
I’ll worship Him, too.”
But Herod was evil
The wise men saw through.
The star in the East
Shone bright before them,
It led them to Jesus
And they worshipped Him.
They gave Him treasures,
Gifts of gold and myrrh,
With frankincense, rare.
So quiet they were.
The wise men were warned,
Herod won’t bow down.
They traveled away
To their own home town.
Protecting God’s Son,
His plan ever true,
This Baby grew strong
To save me and you.
Wise men still seek Him,
Our Savior and King.
Find Him; obey Him,
Praise, worship, and sing.
Based on Matthew 2:1-12
If you’re not sure that the baby in the manger is truly the Savior and King of the World, I invite you to do as the wise men did, go out and search for Him. He is not hiding, and He is not lost. He promises to be found when we search for Him with all our hearts.
"And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13).
