We are to come and worship
In spirit and in truth.
“What is the meaning of this?”
Asks the old and the youth.
True and faithful worshipers
Have no appointed place,
No time or ceremony,
Just guided by God’s grace.
It may be with family
Or it may be all alone.
It may be in a church house
Or kneeling at God’s throne.
Enter God’s holy presence,
And be led by your heart.
Give honor and praise to God.
Be sincere from the start.
True, genuine worshipers
Seek truth in all they do.
Rooted in the Bible,
God’s words will see them through.
God’s truth always enlightens,
Teaches who Jesus is,
Moves us to love and action,
The path to become His.
Worship in spirit and truth.
God lives within your heart.
Seek truth every moment.
Praises and love to impart.
True worshipers have no set place, no set time, and no set rituals. It is a way of life. We are in God’s presence wherever we are and we are guided by the Holy Spirit within us. It is not based on what feels good, our emotions, or merely doctrine, but is based on truth that teaches, enlightens, and moves us to action.
When Jesus met the woman at the well, He spoke of worship that was not a specific place, but a Person. God isn’t limited to physical space. He is present with us everywhere. He is not bound within the walls of a church. True worship is from the hearts of God’s people, not from a specific physical location. When we focus on who God is, what He has done, and all He has promised, we can rejoice in His presence as we worship Him everywhere.
"When He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth." John 18:13
