For as the rain comes down
And, from heaven, the snow.
They do not return there,
But soak the earth below.
The earth brings forth and buds,
That may then bring seeds,
To the planter who sows
And bread to meet our needs.
So shall My word go forth.
It shall not return void,
But it shall accomplish
Whatever I deployed.
It shall prosper and thrive
That's how I intended,
For it has My purpose,
My own truth extended.
An everlasting sign
That shall forever be.
His Gospel and power
Changes men, changes me.
(Based on Isaiah 55)
- God mentions five things that the rain does after it comes down:
- It waters the earth.
- It makes it bring forth.
- It makes it sprout.
- It give seed to the sower.
- It give bread to the eater.
God’s Word is a seed of life. It gives us nourishment that will grow our faith and bear fruit in our lives. The Bread of Life that Jesus represents never perishes, spoils, or runs out. God’s Word will accomplish what He pleases and everyone who hears it will prosper and be changed.
Each day I have seen the seasons change. Budding trees, greening bushes, and blooming flowers are the signs of spring. We have had many days of rain that have given us growth, just as the word of God accomplishes its purpose by bringing spiritual fruit in the lives of believers. I have spent the last two weeks getting flowers planted and the lawn prepared. Work that is worth the time when its beauty reveals what God has given us. Take time to enjoy.
