Lord, You have searched me.
You know every part.
You know when I move
And the thoughts of my heart.
You know all my ways,
Both outward and in.
You know all my words
Before they begin.
You keep me hemmed in
Behind and before.
Your hand upon me,
How could You love more?
(Based on Psalm 139-1-6)
Last weekend I went on a trip to Branson with 13 women from our church, Boundless Grace Baptist Church. We attended the Favored Women Conference with 3000 other women. We laughed with Chonda Pierce, learned from great speakers, and sang praises with Mac Powell, “New Creation” and Anne Wilson, “My Jesus.”
Dr. Joy Green, the Sunday morning speaker, is the founder of Joytime Ministries. She spoke on the feelings that women have. God created us to feel. Our emotions are part of God’s gifts to us but we must be careful not to let our feelings control our lives. Emotions are signals to help us navigate through life’s ups and downs. God has emotions. He rejoices, He loves, and gets angry but remains merciful. Emotions can mislead if they are not grounded in truth and faith. Prayer and spiritual growth are necessary to manage our emotions according to Biblical principles.
God knows us from our first breath to our last. He knows everything about us, our thoughts, our words, and our future. He is aware of each temptation, each broken heart, each illness, each worry, and each sorrow we face. What a comfort to know that He knows us and loves us unconditionally.
