God never promised the absence of storms in our life, but He does promise to walk with us through them.

How long, O Lord? Will You forget me? Will You hide Your face For eternity? How long, O Lord? I wrestle with thoughts, With sorrow in heart, With enemies fought. O Lord, my God Look on me and give Light unto my eyes Or I cannot live. Enemies will say, “I have overcome.” My foes will rejoice When I fall and succumb. But I trust in You, Your unfailing love. My heart rejoices In your grace above. I will sing to You, My Lord and my God. For You’re good to me. Wherever I trod. (Based on Psalm 13)
Have you ever felt like God has forgotten you? Have you experienced the enemies of sorrow, anxiety, or depression that do not seem to go away? Psalm 13 was written by David, who had those same struggles. He could not think clearly enough to count the blessings in his life and lean on God’s promises. It is the same today. These verses asks God to look on us and give light to our eyes. We need to be trusting in the Lord and praying for healing. Remember that God loves you. He hears your prayers and wants the best for you. When these difficult times pass (and they will) we will be able to sing and rejoice. God is good and will put the light back into your eyes. If this is you, trust in God’s love, ask for help, and open up to let others pray for you. Be restored from negative thoughts to positive ones and you will find the life that God wants you to have. Psalm 13 is meant to comfort and give us peace in troubled times.
