St Lucia

Praise the Lord, O my soul For You, My God, are great. You are clothed with splendor. Majesty You create. He wraps Himself in light, As with a garment worn. He stretches out heaven Like a tent. It is born. He lays the chambers’ beams On their waters just right. He makes His chariot Of clouds so soft and white. He established the earth. Its foundation is set. It can never be moved. God will never forget. You covered the whole earth With the ocean so deep, Above the high mountains So majestic and steep. But You spoke Your rebuke And all the waters fled. The sound of Your thunder Caused them to shift and spread. They flowed over mountains. Into valleys they went. Assigned to their places, Your Word caused this event. He who looks at the earth And it trembles and shakes. He touches the mountains And they smoke and they quake. I will sing to the Lord. To God I will sing praise. For as long as I live, My meditation raise. Praise the Lord, O my soul Praise to the Lord above. Honor and glory too To the God whom I love. (Based on Psalm 104)
St Lucia, an island in the West Indies, is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea. It is 27 miles long and 14 miles wide. Two immense pyramids of rock, “The Pitons” rise from the sea to show God’s amazing handiwork. Nearby, in the crater of an ancient volcano, are boiling sulfur springs. We are spending this week on this beautiful island of high, breathtaking mountains, lush tropical forests, fishing villages, colorful towns, views of the sea, and beautiful beaches. Praise God for His perfect creation that shows His majesty and glory.
