Be Anxious for Nothing

Posted on March 15, 2024 by ruthbillingsley
Never be anxious,
For the Lord is near.
Pray and give thanks.
You've nothing to fear.

When our troubles come
We feel all alone,
But help comes from God
His presence is known.

Think how God blessed you
In the days gone by.
Have confidence now
And peace will supply.

Sing and worship God.
Praise Him on His throne.
Then blessed peace will come.
You're never alone.

Anxiety is a common weaknesses of human nature. It is looking ahead without seeing God or having complete faith in Him. We are robbed of peace, joy and strength when we worry about things in which we have no control. God is only a prayer away from having peace and direction. Look back and remember the many blessings received and pray for peace. Remember to thank God for what He has done. Addressing our anxieties begin with prayer.

A prayer to cure anxiety: “Heavenly Father, often my heart is anxious and troubled about many things. I lose sight of You and think You are far away and I try to go it alone. Help me to realize my dependence upon You, my helplessness without You, and to feel Your nearness and Your readiness to help and bless. I am thankful for all You have done in my life and I cast all my anxiety upon You. May I live in the peace of God in Christ Jesus.”

"Be not dismayed whatever betide,
God will take care of you;
Beneath his wings of love abide,
God will take care of you."
