Snowy Winter’s Poem

Posted on January 19, 2024 by ruthbillingsley
Snow is a reminder of
God’s manna from above,
Falling still upon the earth;
A picture of His love.

Fill us with the bread of life.
 Satisfy our thirsting too,
As we come to heaven’s table,
God’s Word forever true.

Snow is a reminder of
White linen in the tomb.
Christ suffered for the sins of man
And rose again so soon.

Wash us until we become
Whiter than the snow.
Jesus paid the price for us.
His forgiveness now we know.

Snow is a reminder of
The fields of white we see,
Harvests of lost souls on earth.
Can they see Christ in me?

Give us Your power, love, and strength
To fight each battle for You,
And draw every man to know You, Lord.
Every word You speak is true.

Snow is a reminder of the pure, white horse,
Carrying our Savior, faithful and true,
Riding to conquer evil and death.
Heaven’s open for me and you.

Praise God, who is coming to gather His children,
And take them home to stay.
Eternal and free to praise and adore,
Our Savior and King every day.
(From My Heart)

Snowy, cold days have kept us inside, yet we are warm and safe as the storms blow and the snow creates a blanket of white. Quiet moments give us the opportunity to spend time in prayer and Bible study, time to do those things around the house that we have put off, or time to start a new project or finish the one we have started. Sometimes it is best to just look at snow’s beauty and rest.

The picture above is in my study and reminds me of the magical images of snow all around us and the special times we get to spend with the ones we love. A snow day as an adult isn’t too different from a snow day as a kid — rejoice in it and celebrate. Make these snowy days a time to share what snow reminds you of, and when you do, speak from your heart.
