Great is the Lord, our King, Most worthy of our praise. In the city of our God His holy mountain raise. It is so beautiful In all its loftiness. The joy of the entire earth, Mount Zion’s heights impress. The city of the King, God is in her stronghold. He has shown Himself to be Her fortress, strong and bold. When the kings joined forces Together they progressed. They saw her and were amazed. They fled and fear possessed. Trembling seized them there, Like labor’s piercing pain. You destroyed them like a ship Shattered by winds and rain. As we have heard and seen, Being there with the Lord In the city of our God Secure is our reward. Within Your temple, God, We meditate on You, Your unfailing love divine, Your name, O God, is true. Your praises are to all, To the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with good, Righteousness, and great worth. Mount Zion rejoices. Their joy is evident. Judah’s villages are glad Because of Your judgment. Walk about Your Zion. Go around her and count Her tower and her ramparts, Numerous, paramount. View Zion’s citadels That you may tell of them To the next generation, Bringing light to the dim. For this God is our God, Forever and ever. He will always be our guide, Never ending, never. (Based on Psalm 48)
Jerusalem, the city of the great King. This joyful song was sung by the sons of Korah, who were Levites from the family of Kohath. It is a song of worship. It is a song of truth. They are praising the great God who delivered them from their enemies and calmed their fears. We are praying today for the God of all the universe to deliver Israel from their enemies and calm their fears.
Great is our God. He is greater than man. He is greater that any king. He is greatness itself: His greatness is unsearchable and He will deliver us.
Jerusalem, the city of God. It is His city. God will establish it forever. We look forward to that time.
