Are you worried by trials? Feeling weak and in strife? Trying hard every day, But sorrow fills your life? Are you beat down, troubled, By the words that are said? Disappointment and fear Of what might lie ahead? You can trust in the Lord, And He will see you through. He hears you when you pray. Your trials He foreknew. He promises, “Fear not, For I’m your Lord God. Never be dismayed, Wherever you may trod. “I am always with you. I will give you My strength. I will also help you And go to any length. “I will ever hold you With My righteous right hand, So give Me your trials. Your fears I understand. “Release them now to Me Don’t ever hold them near. Find joy in trusting Me, And My grace will appear. “Problems won’t go away, But peace will fill your soul. My hand is strong and sure, And all is in control." From "Journeys of Faith"
Isaiah 41:10 begins with a command and a promise. We are commanded not to fear, but it is followed by God’s promise to always be with us. How do we overcome our fears? By prayer, worship and praise, and studying God’s word. This builds our trust of who God is and why He wants us to believe. He desires the best for us. He is there in all our trials, so no matter what difficulties you are facing, believe that God is there with you, holding you near, comforting you, loving you, giving you strength and peace.
You may be worrying about your children (young or grown), or worrying about a loved one who is sick. Maybe you’re wondering how you’re going to live when a family member has died. All of us can be fearful about our health or our finances. We can worry about all sorts of things, big and small. God knows we struggle with fear.
God knows each one of us. He knows when we get worried or become anxious. He knows we’re human. And yet, God gives us many reminders to “fear not.” To fear not means to trust God instead of believing our present situation is bigger than God is. God wants us to trust Him. To trust that He will be enough, no matter what.
