Solomon teaches us about protecting our most vulnerable part – our heart. He writes about “guarding our heart” because from it everything else flows. God’s instructions guide us through life, protecting us from poor decisions and teaching us where to focus our attention. When we listen and obey, we will be better equipped to remain steadfast on our journey with God. We live among the evils of our world every day, but with God’s wisdom guarding our hearts, we can stay focused on our mission to live for God and to glorify Him in everything we do. How do we “guard our heart?” We are to prepare and watch for any danger that might draw us away from God. Knowing scripture helps us in every situation and prayer keeps us grounded in faith.
