The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble. Between the cherubim He sits. Let the earth shake, for great is the Lord And mighty are His benefits. He is exalted above nations. Let everyone praise Your great name. Your awesome name, for You are holy, Righteous and good, ever the same. The King is mighty. He loves justice, Equity established by You. In Jacob You have done what is right. Exalt Him who’s holy and true. Moses and Aaron, two of His priests And Samuel called on His name. They called on the Lord, He answered them. He spoke in the cloud and the flame. They kept His statues and the decrees. O Lord our God, You answered them. You were forgiving to Israel, Though their misdeeds You did condemn. Exalt and lift up the Lord our God. Worship at His holy mountain, For our Lord God is ever holy. He reigns as our righteous fountain. (Based on Psalm 99)
God is the reigning King. He is sovereign and the earth trembles in His presence. He dwells between the cherubim. God is enthroned in His sanctuary. It is difficult to say whether the psalmist had in mind the heavenly sanctuary of God or the earthly representation of it (the tabernacle or temple); both are true and either one fits.

Holiness describes someone, or something, which is set apart from other people or things. An object can be holy if it is set apart for sacred service. A person is holy if he is set apart for God’s will and purpose.
God’s holiness is a part of everything He is and does. God’s power is a holy power. God’s love is a holy love. God’s wisdom is a holy wisdom. Holiness is not an aspect of God’s personality; it is the essence of His entire Being.
The Ark of the Covenant is called His footstool in 1 Chronicles 28:2. To worship at His footstool is to submit to His sovereignty and to respond properly to His holy presence. The Bible calls God holy more than anything else. God is holy in all He is and all He does.
Let us enter His presence with reverence. Let us worship Him with gratitude and exaltation. God not only desires our devotion but He deserves it. He is worthy of our heart-felt worship.
