Be Obedient

When God told Jonah to preach in Nineveh, Jonah refused to go. He did not want the wicked people to repent, but to experience the punishment for their sins. He ran away and found a ship sailing in the opposite direction. A great storm appears and Jonah is thrown overboard. God saves him from drowning by sending a big fish to swallow him. Jonah is frightened, prays for forgiveness and God commands the whale to free Jonah onto dry land. This time Jonah listened, obeyed God, and traveled to Nineveh. He tells them of God’s judgment upon them and there is great salvation among the people. Jonah experienced the mercy of God, who gives second chances. He does the same for us today. Let us be obedient, follow the Word of God, and tell the good news.
"Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people." Psalm 3:8
