1 Samuel 12:20-25

"Now Samuel said to all Israel: 'Indeed I have heeded your voice in all that you said to me, and have made a king over you.'" 1 Samuel 12:1
Do not forget the Lord When you make a wrong choice, And do not be afraid. Listen close for God’s voice. Don’t stray or turn aside But serve Him with your heart. Put away useless things. From all sin depart. The concerns of this world Will never do you good. They will not rescue you Look to Me, as you should. For the sake of His name, The Lord won’t reject you. He has made you His own, By faith to become new. I’ll always pray for you And teach you what is right, But always fear the Lord And serve Him day and night. Be faithful and be true For He has done great things. So, turn from self and sin. Be sheltered by His wings.
Israel rejected God and established an earthly king. These verses are Samuel’s plea to the people to turn back to God, because God loved them despite their sin. Samuel prayed for them and encouraged them to fear the Lord and serve Him. What can we learn from these verses? Consider what great things God has done for you. Turn away from sin and serve Him. God is holy and just. We are to respect His awesome power that shelters us under His wings. Be blessed today by reading God’s word.
