The Lord possessed me from the dawning of time Before His works of old for His plans are sublime. When there were no oceans, I was given new birth. When there were no fountains, I filled water on earth. Before mountains were formed, before the hills were laid, Before the fields or dust, I was brought forth and made. I was there when He set the heavens in their place, When He drew a circle and the deep had a face, When He made clouds above and fixed the fountains deep, Limited the waters so His command they’ll keep, When He marked out the earth, beside Him I would stay. He’s a master craftsman; I’m His delight each day. I would always rejoice before Him and His word. Now man is in the world. Will they obey what’s heard? Proverbs 8:22-31
Wisdom was given birth by God before anything existed. Wisdom witnessed all of God’s marvelous creation and rejoiced in the works of His universe. Is this hard to understand? Look at Romans 11:33. “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!” We cannot imagine the deep things of God, yet we live among His miracles every day. Yes, God’s wisdom remains today. It is eternal. If it can construct and sustain the universe, it can sustain us through anything we have to face. Wisdom can lead us, direct us, protect us, and correct us in all matters of life. Join with wisdom in praising our Holy God.
