Job 28:12-28

Where can wisdom now be found? And where can we understand? Man does not know its value, Nor is it found in the land. The deep says, “It’s not in me.” And the sea will say the same. It cannot be bought with gold, Nor by much silver claim. It can’t be valued in gems, Not in onyx or sapphire. No gold or crystal equals it. None of these things can acquire. Much more than coral or quartz, The price of wisdom is great. It’s far above all rubies And too much to calculate. From where then does wisdom come? Where is understanding’s place? It is hidden from all eyes And concealed from birds in space. Destruction and death will say, “We’ve heard a report of it.” God understands its way, And He knows its benefit. For He looks on all the earth; Under the heavens, He sees. He sets a weight for the wind And divides water with ease. When He made a law for rain And the thunder, a pathway, Then He saw and spoke wisdom. He prepared it to convey. So to all men, He will say, “Behold, the fear of the Lord. That is wisdom and knowledge. That is your hope and reward.” Then He explained to them all, “Now from all evil depart. Then will come understanding And will set each man apart. Hear every word and obey. End all your darkness and death. Come to My understanding. Wisdom commands every breath.”
Our world today is full of knowledge. It is said that human knowledge doubles every eight years. We live in a time of “information overload.” Yet, what good is a head full of knowledge if our hearts are empty and we lack peace and purpose in life? Wisdom is more than knowledge. It is a great gift given to us from God that takes our knowledge and gives it a God-given purpose and plan.
(Verses 12-19) Wisdom cannot be bought. It is fair more valuable than gems, gold and silver.
(Verses 20-27) Man looks but cannot find it. It is hidden. God alone possesses perfect knowledge and wisdom.
(Verse 28) The fear of the Lord is wisdom. God is the only source and place of wisdom and He gives freely to those who fear Him and seek His plan for their lives. A life of wisdom is God-focused and God-centered.
"Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!" Romans 11:33
The full wonder of God’s wisdom and power are beyond human understanding. His knowledge and wisdom are unlimited., yet God gives us wisdom.
"He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning." Daniel 2:21 "For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding." Proverbs 2:6
