Teach Me Your Way

Posted on August 19, 2022 by ruthbillingsley

Psalm 86

Hear, O Lord, and answer me
For I am needy and poor.
Guard my life, save your servant
For You I love and adore.

Save Your servant who trusts You.
O Lord, have mercy on me.
For I call to You all day.
Bring joy to my life, I plea.

lift up my soul to You
For You forgive and are good,
Abounding in love to all
Who call on You, as they should.

Hear my prayer, O Lord my God.
 Listen to my mercy cry.
In the day of my trouble
I will call to You on high.

There is none like You, O Lord.
No deed can compare with Yours.
All the nations You have made
Will come. Their worship endures.

We bring glory to Your name
For You do marvelous deeds.
You alone are our great God.
You will meet all our needs.

Now teach me Your way,
O Lord. In Your truth I will walk near.
Give me a heart, wholly Yours
That Your mighty name I’ll fear.

I’ll praise You with all my heart.
I will glorify Your name,
For great is Your love to me
And the grave You overcame.

The arrogant attack me.
And ruthless men seek my life.
Men without regard for You,
Men filled with anger and strife.

But You, O Lord, are gracious,
Compassionate, full of love,
Slow to anger and faithful,
Showing mercy from above.

Have mercy on me, O Lord.
Grant Your strength to Your servant.
Save Your faithful, loyal son
Whose prayers to You are fervent.

Show me ways of Your goodness
That my enemies may see.
That they may be put to shame
For You help and comfort me.
