Psalm 24

Captiva Island, Florida (June 28, 2022)
The earth is the Lord’s
And all it contains.
The world is the Lord’s
And all who remain.

For He founded it
Upon all the seas.
And established it
With authority.

Who ascends the hill
Of the Lord with grace?
Who may stand with Him
In His holy place?

He who has clean hands
And has a pure heart.
Who flees from idols
And from lies depart.

He receives blessings
 From the Lord above.
Vindication too
From God, who he loves.

Each generation
That seeks the Savior
 Will receive blessings
And endless favor.

So lift up your heads,
O you gates and doors.
The King of glory
 Comes and restores.

Who is this strong King,
This King of glory?
The Lord Almighty
Worthy, His story.

Girl’s trip on beautiful Captiva Island, Florida

We are soaking in the sun that God so beautifully made; watching the ocean and its waves that God founded the earth upon. God started His creation with the seas. You can’t go to the beach and experience the seemingly endless sea and the beautiful sunsets and not be moved.

This ancient Hebrew song was written to describe David’s triumphant return of the ark of the covenant back to Jerusalem. He was concerned about being worthy of what God had entrusted to him. We too should be concerned about our approach to God and taking care of what He has entrusted to us. How should we approach God, the King of Glory? We should be filled with awe; have a pure heart, and never forget the awesome power of Almighty God. His story is worthy of our praise.
