Genesis 1:24-2:3
Days 6 and 7

And then God said, “Let the land be filled With creatures large and small, Animals that move on the ground.” God was pleased with them all. Then God said, “Let Us both make a man, In Our image arrayed To rule over all creation.” Male and female God made. God blessed both of them and spoke these words, “Increase; have gratitude. Fill the earth and rule over it, And use it for your food.” God saw everything that He had made, Perfect in time and space. Night and morning were the sixth day, Heaven and earth in place. Earth was complete in its vast array. Then God called all to rest. The seventh day, His work finished, All is holy and blessed.
God shows His wondrous skill and power in the creation of animals, both large and small. All designed by God and each species has produced it own kind through endless generations. Earth was now prepared for man. He created man in the image of God and the Son. This new creature is made to have an eternal relationship with God. He will have dominion over all creation.
Who are we? We are bearers of the image of God. We have a purpose. God is still here today and man’s obedience still matters. The world today was created by God, sustained by God, and ruled by God. He is in control today of His creation. That makes all the difference. We serve an awesome God. Look around you and praise Him for what He has done.
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. " Psalm 139:14
At the end of each day in the account, God surveyed the fruit of His work and described it as “good.’ As we learn and discover more about God’s creation, may we too recognize His magnificent work, care for it well and proclaim how very good it is.
