Week Eight
Worry

Worry Humble me before You, Lord. Let me rest in Your hands. Lift me up when I am down. Let me see Your plans. To give me a future and a hope. These plans You promise me. Never to harm or hurt But to set me free. Free from worry And an anxious heart. To always trust You’ll do Your part. You’ll carry my burdens So lovingly. Thank You, Lord, For caring for me.
What are symptoms of worry? Perhaps it is sleeplessness, restlessness, tension in our necks and shoulders, headaches, or a racing heart. Sound familiar? We all experience these at times.
Why do we worry? Are we feeling that God is not in control? Worry never changes a single thing in our lives, except our health. Our mind wanders to troubling situations and circumstances that seldom ever come.
What is the cure for worry? God’s Word. Read Matthew 6:25-34 and see how He puts everything in the right perspective.
Is worry a sin? We may excuse worry for “concern,” but we are letting God know that we don’t trust Him enough to be in constant control of our lives. God is in control. Even the smallest details of our lives are of concern to God. The cure to worry is trust; trust in God. When worry and anxieties come, bring them to God in prayer. He will calm your anxious heart.
