Christ is our peace. He has made us one. No more barriers Because of God’s Son. No hostility Or laws that divide. Peace came on the cross. It came to abide. Reconciled to God, Christ’s death covered all. His peace in our hearts Give hope when we call. He came and preached peace To all, far and near. He showed us the way To God that is clear. Through Jesus we come To our Father above. By one Spirit we find Our peace, joy, and love. Ephesians 2:14-18
In a couple of days, when fireworks are set off across cities and towns, the noise will be loud on purpose. Beautiful bursts of color will light up the sky with massive explosions.
We can also have “fireworks” in life that are not so pretty. They boom loudly in our hearts and minds with explosions that rattle our emotions. We have family struggles, health issues, relationship problems, work challenges, and financial strain. Yet, we know the One who brings peace. Christ Himself is our peace. As we see unrest and division in our nation, let us turn to Christ and seek His peace. He can quiet our fireworks and bring us His peace, joy, and love.
“Comforting God, when life’s fireworks shock and unsettle me, draw me to Your peace.” (Our Daily Bread)
You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3
