Jesus Is the Answer

Posted on May 7, 2021 by ruthbillingsley

Jesus is the Answer.
We’ve heard so many say.
He was the answer long ago
And still, He is today.

Everywhere you look, all throughout history, we see men and women of God who have stood firm and followed Jesus.  Their stories inspire us to have faith, confidence in what we hope for, and assurance about what we do not see.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

He saved the Jews from Pharaoh
And helped them cross the sea.
He fed them manna everyday
And led them to be free.

Today he saves us from our sin,
To the rugged cross we flee.
His word feeds us everyday
And leads us to be free.

Look to the story of Moses and see how God led His people to be free.  He leads us to be free of the bondage of sin through Jesus Christ.

“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:36

He promised faithful Abraham
Children numerous as the stars.
He led him to believe great things
Miracles, near and far.

He promises us a sonship,
Children and heirs of God.
He leads us to follow Him,
Along each path we trod.

Look to faithful Abraham and see God’s promises fulfilled.  We are children of God and are included in His inheritance.

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God” 1 John 3:11

He saved Daniel from the lion’s den,
Orders given by the king.
A witness of God’s power,
Trusting Him in everything.

God saves us from Satan’s grip
Sending angels to defend.
We see God’s mighty power
And trust Him as a friend.

Look to Daniel in the lion’s den.  Do you need freedom from the captivity of addiction that roars like a lion?  God will give you strength to be set free.

“Be sober; be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”  1 Peter 5:8

He gave courage to Queen Esther
To stand before the king.
She saved the Jewish people.
To God their praises ring.

God’s courage can be in us
To do the things we should.
We stand up for our Savior
And support what’s right and good.

Look to Queen Esther for courage.  She put her life in danger for her people.  Stand up for what is right and good, even if it means criticism or difficult consequences.

“Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” Psalm 31:24

He rescued Joseph from his brothers
And gave him power and fame
To save them from great famine.
He forgave and overcame.

God rescues us from danger,
From those who hurt and grieve.
He fills us with His power
To forgive others and believe

Look to Joseph’s story for a picture of forgiveness. Do you need to forgive someone who has hurt or wronged you?

“And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

Yes, Jesus is the Answer.
And now we can say,
He was the answer long ago
And still, He is today.
