The Lord is my refuge. How can you say to me, Fly away like a bird To your mountain safely flee? The wicked bend their bows. Their arrows are now set. They shoot from the shadows. The upright in heart they threat. Look at our foundations. They are being destroyed. What can the righteous do? What defense have they employed?
Life can be a battlefield. Hostile fire can send us scattering for cover when we meet challenges. Our battles may be our health, finances, relationships, spiritual growth, and living in an ungodly nation. What should we do? Can we run from challenges? Can we dodge the arrows? May we ever be dependent on God but also may we understand the absolute necessity and responsibility of staying and fighting and not fleeing to the mountains. Instead of running may we understand our responsibilities to do and seek the will of God.

In His holy temple, On His heavenly throne, The Lord observes all men. His eyes examine His own. The Lord can see all men. He hates the wicked ones. Those who love violence Will never be called His sons. On the wicked He will rain Fiery coals and sulfur. Scorching winds will be their lot. They will hurt and suffer. For the Lord is righteous. Justice and truth He loves. Upright men will see Him. God’s face will shine above.
We must also understand that the Lord is on His throne watching over the whole earth and His eyes are searching for the heart of each man. Will you be found faithful? There will be a day of judgment for the good and the evil man.

God sees each battle we face. He observes the travesties of our nation and will punish the wicked, for He is righteous and loves truth and justice. We are to take comfort and rest in Him because He sees us and He knows what is fair and right. Let us face our battles with God.
