God’s Unfailing Love (Part Three)

Posted on April 16, 2021 by ruthbillingsley

Fools In Sin

Psalm 107:17-22

Some men become fools,
Through rebellious days.
Suffered affliction
Because of their ways.

God’s people become fools when they are rebellious and live in sin.  Like the Israelites, when we disobey God’s commands we bring affliction and suffering to our lives.  We bring a lot of grief on ourselves.

They hated their food
And drew near to death.
They cried to the Lord
With their one last breath

The Israelites wandering in the desert after escaping from Egypt constantly complained because of a lack of food and water. When God provided it; they still complained.  When a starving soul has no appetite for the milk or meat of God’s word, it shows that spiritual death is near. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble and He saved them.  Even when God’s people are in trouble because of their own wrongdoing, God answers when they cry out to Him.

He saved them from loss.
He sent forth His word.
Healed them and rescued
From the grave, assured.

God uses His word to heal, to deliver, and to set us free.  When we are committed to reading God’s word He will give us the scripture we need, just at the right time.  God’s word has power!  Our healing is only found in Jesus – the Word made flesh.  We devour scripture so that we may know God.

Let them all give thanks
For the Lord is good.
His unfailing love
And grace understood.

Let them sacrifice
Full of gratitude
And tell of His works,
Joyful songs include.

Give thanks for God’s love never fails. Understanding His grace of salvation, forgiveness, freedom, and His presence gives us joy and hope and fills us with thanksgiving.  Let us worship God with thanks and praises.

“Let us offer unto God the sacrifice of praise, even the fruit of our lips.”  Hebrews 13:15

Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Amen.
This is Jerusalem taken from the Mount of Olives.
