Souls in a Storm
Psalm 107:23-32
Others went to sea. Sailed on merchant ships. They saw the Lord’s works And deeds on their trips.
These people were just going about their business when a storm strikes. Bob and I experienced a storm at sea on a cruise ship. It woke us up in the middle of the night as our bed moved from side to side. However, ocean liners today are nothing like the ships in this verse. Their lives were at risk.
For He spoke the words And tempest stormed. Lifted up the waves, To heaven they formed. Waves down to the depths With peril so near. Their courage was gone; They staggered in fear. Tossed like drunken men And at their wits end, They cried to the Lord, Their Savior and Friend
When it comes to the storms of life, we become tossed about like a storm at sea. Life is not always smooth sailing. Are you in the midst of a storm? At your wits end? Are you struggling with illness, fragile relationships, financial difficulties, anxiety over our nation’s political storm? What do we do? Cry out to the Lord!

He brought them all out Of distress and fear. He made still the storm, Soft whispers to hear. The waves of the sea Were hushed and grew calm. He guided them home, Their haven and balm. Let them give thanks For the Lord’s great love, His wonderful deeds, Exalt Him above.
Trust in the Lord. He will be your safe haven. Not only to calm the storm but also to guide you home. God is at work in our lives.
