Rejoicing in God’s Care
Psalm 107:33-43
Rivers to desert, Flowing springs made dry. Fruitful land to salt For wicked men lie. Desert to water, Parched ground into springs. He brings the hungry To live there and sing.
What a contrast between these two verses. God is demonstrating His all-powerful wisdom through His judgment and His forgiveness. Wicked, rebellious men remain parched, but those who hunger for God are fed.

They found a city To settle and live. They sowed all the fields, Fruitful harvests give. The Lord blessed them all. Their numbers increased. He let the herds grow. But then it all ceased. They were now humbled. Oppression soon came, Calamity too And sorrow and shame. He then pours contempt On princes, disgraced, Made them wander long In a trackless waste.
Dynasties and empires come and go. Even kings, princes, and rulers must give an account to God. When people in authority cause burdens for God’s people, God will being them to justice. Their judgment will come.
But He lifted up The afflicted ones, The needy, upright, Their daughters and sons. Increased families Like flocks on each hill. They rejoiced with praise But the wicked were still.

Whoever is wise, Let him heed these things. Consider the Lord. The great love He brings
