Captiva Island, Florida, with its mighty sea, continuous sand, and endless shells has been my peaceful retreat for the past two weeks. All who know me are aware that I am an avid shell collector. I am on the beach at first light, which now is 6:30 a.m.

Holy! Holy! Holy! This has been my morning theme song. I am equipped with AirPods and iPhone to praise the Lord as the music proclaims, “Early in the morning my song shall rise to Thee” and “All thy works shall praise Thy name in earth, and sky, and sea.”
Enjoy this beautiful song.
This hymn was written by Reginald Heber (1783-1826) and John B. Dykes (1823-1876). Reginald Heber’s widow found these words among her dead husband’s papers. They are one of the most powerful and beautiful hymns ever written. But years would pass before the lines were in worship services around the world.
In 1861, a publisher rediscovered the words. He asked John Bacchus Dykes to furnish a tune. John had been a church organist since he was 10 years old and was cofounder and president of Cambridge University Musical Society. John accepted the words. Within 30 minutes he wrote the tune.
Yes, every morning, everything begins with God. He is the center of our faith. We were made to know Him; honor and praise His holiness and live a life that pleases Him!
“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory! (Isaiah 6:3)
