“You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.” Isaiah 25:4

In 2020, ten major storms have hit the United States and five have been hurricanes. They were predicted early because of conditions favorable for them to develop. Warnings were given for people to prepare for them. Conditions may also be favorable for the coming storms of life and warnings are given to prepare. Disaster could be coming at any time.
Storms in our lives are inevitable. If you have not experienced them, they will come. We have times when circumstances do not make sense. Times when problems seem big and faith is small. So how do we deal with these storms? Here are some suggestions:
- Never give up. Don’t give in to the storm and let it take control. Board-up and stand firm.
- Keep focused. What is really important? Guard your heart and mind.
- Remember. Remember to have faith in Jesus, who calms every storm. Remember storms will pass. Devastation may come, but it doesn’t stick around. Jesus calms the winds and the waves of our spiritual lives. He will always be with us to strengthen and guide.
- Praise and pray. When we see the storm coming, we are to praise and pray. Do not trust in what we see and understand, but trust in the One we cannot see. He can calm all storms and see you through.

Nailed To The Cross When we were dead in our sins, And lost in selfish desire, God made us alive in Christ, And gave us all we require. He forgave us all our sins, That we might not suffer loss, Christ carried all that binds And nailed it to the cross. So when we go through storms in life, When caught by tempest-toss, Remember Christ has overcome. Triumphant on the cross. Colossians 2:13-14
