Psalm 1 is the beginning of a blessed walk with God through the book of Psalms. It contrasts the holiness and happiness of a godly man with the sinfulness and misery of a wicked man. It is a message of warning, instruction, blessings, bearing fruit and consequences.
1. Warning: Are you walking down the right path? Do not walk, stand, or sit with the ungodly, but follow in obedience and delight in the Lord.

2. Instruction: Meditate day and night on God’s laws and Word. When you love the law of God you will do His will.
3. Blessings: Blessings come from the Lord, not happiness but blessedness. It is not how we feel but what we are and whose we are. God is pleased when He sees our acts of faith.
4. Bearing Fruit: A tree by a stream has roots that go deep down, drawing water from that stream. It exists to have fruit. That is what makes the tree a blessing. Plant yourself firmly so you can receive spiritual nourishment.

5. Consequences: The wicked are like useless chaff, that part of the grain that is of no use and no hope eternally. Be the hands and feet of Jesus to others and be used to make a difference.
The Lord is watching our actions and He knows our hearts. Strive to do your best and stay on the right path.
Psalm 1 Do Your Best Do not walk in the counsel of the wicked Or stand in the sinners’ way. Do not sit in the seat of mockers But delight in the Lord and obey. The Lord blesses every man Who meditates day and night. Who loves the law of the Lord And lives to do what is right. He is like a tree by water streams That yields its fruit in season. Whose leaf does not wither But prospers with good reason. The wicked are like chaff That the wind blows away. They have no defense in court Or hope on Judgment Day. The Lord sees our efforts. By His word we are blessed. He watches all our ways. So strive to do your best.
