God’s Wisdom for Today’s World

Today my third book of poetry is being released and is available for purchase. I pray that it will be a guide to readers as they study the book of Proverbs and learn the truths of God’s wisdom. I would like to highlight Chapter 8 today. God’s wisdom is calling out for us to listen and trust.

Proverbs 8 challenges and instructs believers in the aspects of wisdom: wisdom’s call, wisdom’s value, wisdom’s birth, and wisdom’s blessing. It encourages each of us to listen to wisdom, God’s wisdom, to be wise, and set our hearts on the right path. Wisdom is for ordinary people, not just the intelligent or the theologians. It cries out to all men to follow God’s principles and be wise. Every situation is a choice. Every day we have the opportunity to make decisions with consequences that can be good or that can be difficult. Some advice: 1. Learn to be patient with your decisions. 2. Consider the consequences. 3. Will it please God?
Our lives today are the result of thousands of choices we’ve made over the years. The path of wisdom to serve God is a path that we choose daily, not just on sunny days, but also rainy days, in sickness and in health, when we feel like it and when we don’t. Healthy choices seek to honor God even in challenging circumstances. Our choices are important in major life decisions as well as every small one. Choices matter. Wisdom matters.
May God bless you with His wisdom and truth.
The Call of Wisdom Does not wisdom cry out as she raises her voice? She takes her stand on high. Every path is a choice. She calls out to all men, to fools and simple ones. Understand. Be cautious. Listen to me, my sons. What I say is worthy. My lips speak what is right. My mouth voices truth; deception is out of sight. All of my words are just, not crooked or perverse. They are simple and clear. Righteousness, they disperse.
